Utilities
These programs are utilities that do things we think are handy; for example, helping you run old games on modern machines. Any cool utility may be listed here, though, so if you have a suggestion for a utility we should add to this section, please contact us using the 'Contact Us' section! The utilities will be in '.zip' format, so you will need a program such as WinRAR to unzip them (a link to the WinRAR site is in the Games Area).
CPUkiller 2.0.5.1
This is a nifty little utility, Windows-based, that allows you to artificially slow down your CPU, usually in an attempt to play games that would normally play too quickly on your computer.
FileDate v1.2
You know the dates that files on your computer are tagged with; 'Created', 'Modified' and 'Accessed'? Have you ever wanted to change those dates? You know, to get Unix-like projects to compile properly on your system by pretending a file was updated more recently than it really was?
Oh, you haven't? Well... now you can anyway, with FileDate!
Uhm... made by Gem.
Carbon Copy v1.05
This is a pretty cool, yet simple tool that allows you to make a 'carbon copy' of a set of directories on your computer. You specify a base directory to backup to, and sit back whilst the source directories are synchronized to the backup directory. Allows quick, effective, regular backups to be made. Made by Gem.
The Random Password Generator v1.1
This was a small project I worked on for a couple of days and it progressed into a decent utility. It started out as a quick program I whipped up when I wanted a random password, but I have now got round to adding a few new features - random passwords can now be generated using numbers, small letters, capital letters or a combination of these, and the generated password size can be changed. Made by Gem.
